Graduate Advising for Online Students
All Webster graduate students are required to meet with an academic advisor to obtain a degree plan and review the requirements for their selected academic program. Students may complete this advising session prior to or after applying for admission. An initial advising appointment is required before students can register for their first course.
Online students who are near a Webster extended campus should contact that site for advising. Any online student who is unsure about whom to contact or who is not close to a site location should contact the Academic Advising Center.
Online students should schedule a phone appointment to speak directly with an academic advisor to receive their degree plan. Online students will also receive an extensive advising memo in place of the in-person appointment. (When it is possible, online students are welcomed to schedule an in-person appointment in addition to receiving the degree plan and advising memo.)
