Teaching Philosophy
Students learn best by exercising the concepts they encounter in lecture. I try to build into each of my classes a component of group work, individual project and/or real-life experiences. I also believe our students need to be fluent in current technology so I utilize the web-enhanced sections of my face-to-face classes and teach online.
About
I am very interested in the concept of the global citizen — what does that mean and how is that manifested. I encourage all my students and advisees to study abroad to gain a new perspective on other countries, the USA and themselves. As the director at the Thai campus for almost four years, I learned the true value of a study abroad experience when I saw students from multiple countries becoming best friends. Friendships and person-to-person encounters can change everything.
