My teaching philosophy can best be described as experiential. I believe students best learn by doing. My courses require students to produce a lot of work. This requirement enables them to understand their own weaknesses and determine ways to improve.
Eileen Solomon has spent the last 16 years teaching at the university level. She takes Thomas Jefferson seriously when he says, "Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government," and enjoys seeing students learning how to be responsible journalists.
Prior to teaching, Solomon spent 12 years in television and radio news in St. Louis, Baltimore, Miami and Tucson, Ariz. She was awarded a local EMMY for her producing.
