Internet Access
Internet access is available free on-campus, including from the dorms and apartments, by connecting your computer to the campus network.
If you live off-campus, you must subscribe to an Internet Service Provider (ISP)
that brings internet access to your home.
Activating an E-mail Account
Free e-mail accounts are available to all currently students,
staff and faculty. In order to activate and access this email account you must setup your Connections account.
Faculty and Staff System Logons
Faculty and staff may request access to Novell (network file storage) and CARS, by downloading the Logon Request Form in Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat format. Fax the form to 314-968-5909.
Getting Your E-mail
You can configure an email client such as Netscape, Outlook, Eudora, or Mac mail in
order to access your email.
You can also check your email over the Internet with any browser by logging on
to the Connections portal. To do so, please follow the proceeding steps:
1. Go to the following web address: http://connections.webster.edu.
2. Type in your Connections username and password in the appropriate boxes
within the Secure Access Login box. Please note that passwords are case
sensitive so make sure your caps lock key is not turned on and that you enter
your password exactly how you set it up.
3. Click the "Mail" icon at the upper right side of the page.
Web Page & FTP Server Space
Server space for web pages and FTP is automatically provided for
students, faculty and staff.
After you have activated your
Connections account, please see the instructions for posting your documents
to the web for Macintosh and Windows.
This is an unsupported service that is offered as-is.
There is also a public FTP server available at ftp.webster.edu.
Log in using "anonymous" as your username and your email address as
your password. This FTP server contains assorted files that might be of
use to our community. Additions can be suggested to ftpadmin@webster.edu.
