The Institute is dedicated to supporting the work of Webster University faculty. As we continue to grow, this space will provide faculty members with resources for teaching human rights and humanitarian studies, as well as links to research and funding opportunities.

The Institute would also like to feature the accomplishments of Webster faculty – including fieldwork experiences, new human rights courses, publications, and discussions related to rights and humanitarianism. Faculty members at all Webster campuses are encouraged to submit articles, photographs, and updates to humanrights@webster.edu.

Key members of the Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies recently returned from a study tour in Rwanda. HRTS 3080 Advanced Topics in Human Rights: Connecting across Culture—Rwanda, combined  six weeks of online study and a two-week tour of the small African country.  The course instructors, Professors Elizabeth Sausele and Sarita Cargas, accompanied students, along with two other human rights professors, Lindsey Kingston and Andrea Miller. To read about their experiances please see the recent article published in Global Thinking.
