Webster University Geneva’s International Relations Department will held its 16th International Humanitarian Conference on January 27-28, 2011, focused on the theme of “humanitarian space,” and the challenges faced in the field of humanitarian work.

Through its unique tradition and the presence of major international humanitarian organizations and NGOs, Geneva is intricately involved in worldwide humanitarian action. Since 1995, this conference has been organized in close consultation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The 2011 edition will also be held under the auspices of the Government of the State of Geneva. The conference aims to bring together practitioners and scholars, representatives and diplomats, and address today and tomorrow’s challenges.
