SCIENCE MANAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP

The master of science (MS) in science management and leadership is designed for professional scientists and engineers who are advancing in their careers in management and leadership roles. The program aims to provide these professionals with competencies in communication, management, leadership, regulatory affairs, intellectual property, finance, ethics, and law.

The program will provide a mentoring system and networking experiences. The program requires 36 credits with a core of 27 credits and an additional 9 elective credits.

Students enrolled in the program will focus on:

  • Developing effective written and verbal presentation skills
  • Ethical standards
  • Collaborating on projects as a team, across all business functions Learning leadership skills
  • Workplace diversity issues
  • Tactics for conflict resolution
  • Managing employees successfully to achieve common goals
  • Understanding the budgeting process
  • Product development and marketing
  • Forecasting, life cycle costing, and analyzing financial reports
  • Understanding legal issues related to intellectual property
