Mission Statement

The Masters of Science degree for the advanced practice of nurse anesthesia offered by the Department of Biological Sciences is nurtured by a rigorous environment conducive to the development of scholars within the university and the community. The MS in Nurse Anesthesia Program is committed to providing service to the University, the community, the profession and the nation. Faculty and Nurse Anesthesia residents are encouraged to serve in leadership roles within a variety of communities. Graduates and Faculty of the MS in Nurse Anesthesia Program are encouraged to provide services to underserved communities including, but not limited to, rural and poor urban areas.

The primary mission of the MS in Nurse Anesthesia Program is to prepare graduates for professional awareness, lifelong study and research in practice of the art and science of anesthesia. This mission extends beyond the campus of Webster University, to other educational institutions, the community, and professional organizations.
