Online Faculty Training Session

I would like to welcome you to St. Louis and to the Weekend Online Training Program. Lee Maxey, the Chief Learning Officer at Pathlore Software, which has designed online curriculum for Lucent, American Express and Microsoft among others recommends critical questions to meeting the needs of the online growing community among Corporate America. He believes institutions of higher learning must ask themselves some hard questions.

  • First ask yourself does your course or program solve a real world problem that organizations are facing?
  • How can we assess the level of learning after the course is finished?
  • How do we maintain consistency of content and context (quality)?
  • How can the online offering go beyond conventional classroom format?
  • What is unique to our online offering that sets us apart from the rest?

The biggest challenge we face with online delivery is to maintain relevance and vigor. As we move forward to enhance the online offerings, I would like to ask that you keep these thoughts in mind.

Thank you.
