Webster on CBS News Report Featuring Twitter Creator

Header Jack Dorsey, Twitter Co-founder, speaking with CBS Anchor Russ Mitchell

We can answer the Twitter question "What are you doing" for Webster University worldwide and those who tweet, including the more than 1.3 million people who follow Twitter's creator Jack Dorsey. This Sunday, October 4th they will want to be in front of their TVs or computers watching the The CBS Sunday Evening News and the young entrepreneur's story as reported by newsman Russ Mitchell. Mitchell, a Webster Groves native, and his producer came to Webster University's Tweetup last month to profile Dorsey's day from his address on campus to his first pitch at the Cardinals baseball game.

Minority Business Students Endowed Scholarship Fund Hits $100,000

Eight years ago the founder of one of the leading construction management companies in the United States, Anthony Thompson (MBA '88), made a commitment to Webster University and its students. Mr. Thompson and his wife Kim, knowing the power of knowledge, established an endowed scholarship fund to assist minority graduate students in achieving their educational goals. This fall, Mr. Thompson reached his total endowment goal of $100,000 by donating the final $30,000 to the Kim and Anthony Thompson Endowed Scholarship.

"It has been said that an investment in knowledge pays the best interest," said Dr. Benjamin Ola. Akande, dean of Webster's School of Business & Technology. "Tony's investment in his alma mater helps us continue to bring the best education to our students as well as celebrate him as an outstanding alumnus and friend of Webster."


Speakers Series Goes International

At Webster University, "Whassup?!" is the SBT's Success to Signficance Speakers series going international with an address in Geneva, Switzerland by Robert Lachky, creator of the award winning campaign for Anheuser-Busch. Lachky will recap his years as head of advertising for the beer giant at Webster's Geneva campus, Tuesday, October 6th at 4pm. Reservations are encouraged for this free event.
