Commencement 2011: Seeking Knowledge

"Learning is not a destination. It's a lifelong journey," Dean Benjamin Ola. Akande told the Class of 2011 at Webster University's commencement Saturday. Urging graduates to update their "status" on Facebook with "Off to explore" and urging graduates not to limit their life's goal to the 140 – 160 characters on Twitter or in a text, the dean offered his own special tweet for the occasion. IBM chief named 2011 CEO of the Year

What I have learned from Ambassador George Herbert Walker (Walker School of Business & Technology) is that we as business leaders must be devoted to service," says IBM Chairman, president and CEO Sam Palmisano. "We must leave our companies, our societies and our world better than we found them." On April 28, 2011 Mr. Palmisano celebrated his company's centennial at Webster University and we celebrated Mr. Palmisano as Webster's 2011 CEO of the Year.
