AFCEA Educational Foundation STEM Scholarships

This Foundation offers scholarships to students pursuing teacher certification in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).

This scholarship is from an outside source and not through Webster’s Financial Aid department. For more information click here.

Chomeau Scholarship

For single mothers enrolled full-time or part-time and are pursuing an undergraduate degree in Teacher Education.

The Chomeau Scholarship Fund was established by Douglas B. and Susan R. Chomeau to provide a scholarship in Susan's name for single mothers pursuing an Education degree at Webster University and to honor of Susan's personal achievement of attaining her degree while a single parent.  

Restrictions

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and full time undergraduate students in the School of Education. This scholarship is limited to single mothers interested in pursuing a degree program who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5, or higher, and maintain a cumulative GPA 3.5 average, or higher, for second-semester renewal.

Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Scholarships

Teacher Quality and Urban Education scholarships offered by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Earl and Myrtle Walker Stipend

For student teachers who work as teacher aides or tutors in the same school where they are involved in course experience.

Glotzbach Scholarship

For MAT students majoring in or completing an emphasis in Educational Technology.

The Edward L. Glotzbach Scholarship Fund was established by the Southwestern Bell Corporation (SBC) Foundation to fund scholarships for MAT students majoring or completing an emphasis in Educational Technology. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA in the MAT program.  Scholarships apply to Educational Technology (EDTC) courses only.

The scholarship (up to 6 MAT credits) is awarded each spring for the following academic year.

To apply:

1) Complete this form.

2) Attach a 300-500 word essay addressing the reason you are studying Educational Technology.

3) Applications must be submitted by April 16 to:

Grad to Grad Scholarship

The Office of Admissions offers this scholarship to qualifying students who graduate from Webster University with an undergraduate degree and enroll in a graduate degree program at Webster University the following term.

A limited amount of funding is available for this program, beginning with the start of the academic year. Some programs are excluded from eligibility. Please contact Sarah Nandor, Director of Graduate Admission at 314-968-7109 for more details.

Kornblum Scholarship

For St. Louis Public School teachers seeking a graduate degree.

The Kornblum Scholar Program makes graduate scholarships available to St. Louis Public School teachers who are committed to the aims of the Institute. 

The program supports long-term professional development and collaborative work among teachers and educational leaders working together in teams to improve teaching and learning in schools.  These teams participate with Webster University faculty in collaborative action research projects and eventually become mentors for future Kornblum Scholars. 

The long-term goal is to provide a lasting network of support for teachers and educational leaders who engage in action research and reflective practice aimed at improving teaching and learning for public school children from the urban setting.

Application Requirements:

  • Candidates must be accepted into a graduate program in Education at Webster University.

  • Scholarships are available on an ongoing basis to U.S. and non-U.S. citizens who are currently teaching in the St. Louis City Public Schools.

  • Recipients must document a minimum undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.0.

Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation Grant

For any active classroom teacher or employee of a Missouri school district.

Missouri Retired Teachers Foundation Scholarship

For students officially enrolled in a teacher education program, or teachers employed in Missouri schools seeking additional certification or advanced degrees.

Student Literacy Corps

The Student Literacy Corps places Webster University students as tutors working with new and struggling readers in schools and other educational programs throughout the St. Louis area. Tutoring provides Education majors additional opportunities to hone their teaching skills with a diverse student population.

Eligible students need to have received a Federal Work Study award and be able to commit to a weekly tutoring schedule for a full semester.

TEACH Grant Program

The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program is a Federal Student Aid Program that grants up to $4,000 per year to qualifying students. If you would like to apply for the TEACH Grant, fill out the recommendation form and email it to Peggy Peel or fax to 314-246-8241.
