Title III Strengthening Institutions Grant Overview

The Title III Strengthening Institutions Grant from the Emerson Library provided $1.75 million to help fund technology in the University Library (Activity I) and to establish a Faculty Development Center (Activity II). Jim Staley is the Project Director, and Laura Rein is the Associate Project Director.

Faculty Transformation Fellowships:

The Faculty Transformation Fellowship Program focused on the improvement of teaching and learning. The program provided selected faculty with a laptop, a stipend, and comprehensive support from the FDC to support their proposed projects; including the extension of appropriate academic technology into their teaching and learning activities. This program, together with the University’s Institute for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, served as a catalyst for change and for quality improvement in student learning outcomes. This project assisted faculty in transforming their courses, improved learning, and integrated more instructional technology into their courses.

The fellowship program provided funding for 40 Webster faculty over a three year time period.

Contact the FDC for more information.
