New and Transfer Student Audition Information

If you intend to major or minor as an undergraduate student at Webster University, you must complete an audition as part of your application. We recommend that students apply for academic admission before auditioning.
Auditions are held several times each semester for these areas of study:
Jazz Studies (Instrumental or Vocal)
Composition
Music Education
Instrumental Performance
Piano or Organ Performance
Voice Performance
Music Technology
In addition to the auditions, these days include other activities for students and parents. These include campus tours, an admission/financial aid presentation, class observation, and departmental overviews.

Please do not make travel arrangements until your audition date has been confirmed.
3. One final step: print, complete, and return this information form, providing the form to us no later than two weeks prior to your audition.
While live auditions are preferred, we do accept digital auditions.
Graduate Student Audition Information
Please contact the Department of Music at the Webster Groves campus on (314) 968-7032 to request our graduate packet of information, or to schedule an entrance examination and audition. Graduate student auditions are separate from undergraduate auditions.
