Anne Edmunds Named Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management at Webster University

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 21, 2011 – Webster University Senior Vice President and Provost Dr. Julian Z. Schuster today announced the appointment of Dr. Anne Edmunds to the position of Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management. Edmunds, who will join Webster on Dec. 5, currently serves as Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.

At Webster, Edmunds will be responsible for constructing an enrollment management program that employs both traditional and non-traditional means to attract, select, enroll and retain a highly diverse and talented group of students. She will be involved in enrollment management activities for the University’s national and multi-national undergraduate and graduate student populations, at Webster campuses around the United States and the world. Edmunds will report through the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, working closely with the President, Provost and other members of Webster’s senior administration.

“Anne Edmunds brings 17 years of experience to Webster University, serving in increasingly responsible positions in recruitment, admissions and enrollment management,” Provost Schuster said. “We are confident not only that Anne will be an immediate asset to Webster University, but that she will provide strong and visionary  leadership in the area of enrollment management as Webster continues on its path of achieving global academic and operational excellence.”

As Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Belmont University, a position she has held since 2008, Edmunds led the day-to-day operations of the undergraduate admissions office. She instituted changes in recruiting efforts that helped increase Belmont’s freshman class enrollment by 250 percent. Prior to 2008, Edmunds served both as Belmont’s Associate and Assistant Director of Admissions, and as Enrollment Services Counselor. From 1994 to 1998, Edmunds served as Recruiting Coordinator at Vanderbilt University’s Career Center.

“I am thrilled about the opportunity to serve Webster, an institution on the cusp of some exciting changes that will echo from the Webster Groves campus throughout the University’s global community,” Edmunds said. “I look forward to being a part of the enrollment efforts that will help Webster achieve global academic and operational excellence.”

“We are very excited to have Anne join us,” said Paul Carney, Webster’s Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. “Her energy and experience at Belmont University will help us move forward in both undergraduate and graduate recruitment.”

Edmunds holds a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in college student personnel services from Vanderbilt University, and a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University. She also studied advanced level mathematics and physics at Clifton College in Bristol, England.

Edmunds currently serves as executive secretary-treasurer for the Tennessee College Association, and is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, and the National Association for College Admission Counseling.
