The Webster University Jazz Program Celebrates Benny Goodman in a Tribute Concert
What/Who:
The Webster University Jazz Program celebrates Benny Goodman in a tribute concert to benefit the Suzy Shepard and Donald O. Davis Scholarship Funds. The 2009-2010 academic year marks the centennial of Benny Goodman's birth.
Featured guest clarinetist Scott Alberici will perform with Webster University Jazz Faculty ensemble composed of Steve Schenkel-guitar, Kim Portnoy-piano, Jay Hungerford-bass and Kevin Gianino-drums. The repertoire will include "Oh, Lady Be Good," "Avalon," "After You've Gone," "Memories of You," "Stompin at the Savoy," "Moonglow," "Poor Butterfly," "She's Funny That Way" and "Airmail Special."
