    “Big Band from 1967 to Today: Seven Views from Holman, Mintzer, Nelson, Harris and others” at Webster University

    Who/What:
    The Big Band has proven to be a viable and durable genre since its inception in the 1920’s. The Webster University Big Band, under the direction of James A. Martin, will present a concert featuring seven important Big Band compositions that helped to influence the current sound of the Big Band.

    “Blues for Alfy”--- Bill Holman
    “Joshua” --- Miles Davis and Victor Feldman/arr. By Bob Mintzer “Ancestors” --- Bob Mintzer
    “I Hope in Time A Change Will Come” --- Oliver Nelson
    “Madelyn’s Song” --- Matt Harris
    “Mosaic” --- Cedar Walton/arr. By Don Sickler

    $3 at the door, students free with valid identification
