Willie Akins with the Carolbeth True Trio present "A Tribute to Masters of the Tenor Saxophone." Saxophonist Willie Akins will be joined by Carolbeth True and her trio (Carolbeth True-piano, Eric Warren-bass, and Kevin Gianino-drums) for this Black History Month event. Repertoire associated with saxophonists Coleman Hawkins, Dexter Gordon, Sonny Rollins, John Coltrane, Hank Mobley, Joe Henderson, and Oliver Nelson will be performed. The trio will be featured in two selections by pianists Bud Powell and Joe Sample.
