    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

    Nov. 19, 2009

A Performance of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1 at Webster University

    What/Who:

The entire 24 preludes and fugues of Bach's magnificent Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1 will be performed by both students and faculty at this festive concert in the intimate Thompson House recital hall. Published in 1722, Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier was one of the first works in all major and minor keys, a somewhat novel idea at the time. While most of the preludes and fugues will be performed on piano, there will be several instrumental and even electronic renderings at the concert. Come and go as you wish. Refreshments are provided.

    When: Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, 2–5 p.m.

Where:  Recital Hall, Thompson Music Building, 8282 Big Bend Blvd.

Cost: Free and open to the public

More Info: Call 968-7032, or the Fine Arts Hotline at 968-7128.
