Father's Day Media Advisory:
Webster University Anthropologist Available to Discuss Changing Role of Fathers Today
What is driving the current "Daditude" of fathers today? They’re more hands-on then their predecessors and more eager to take on more household and child-rearing responsibilities. Is it a fad? Or a change that is here to stay? How much of "Daditude" is being driven by the economy?
Don Conway-Long, Ph.D., associate professor in the Behavioral & Social Sciences Department, is an anthropologist specializing in men and masculinities. Conway-Long earned his Ph.D. in anthropology from Washington University, St. Louis. He serves on the advisory board of Men and Masculinities (Sage) and is an editorial associate for Theory and Society (Springer). He can address these questions and more, as we approach the Father's Day holiday.
For an interview with Conway-Long, contact Christine Wells Eason, director of media relations, Webster University Office of Public Affairs, at 314-565-5745 or eason@webster.edu.
