Paul DeMarinis/Mark Karpowicz Quintet Concert at Webster University
Saxophonist Paul DeMarinis, Director Jazz Studies at Webster University, and longtime adjunct faculty member and saxophonist Mike Karpowicz will present an evening of contemporary jazz for two saxophones and rhythm section. They will be joined by Webster jazz faculty members Kim Portnoy, piano; Ben Wheeler, bass and Kevin Gianinio, drums. Repertoire will include "New Breed" by Dave Liebman; "Bastion of Sanity," by Dave Binney; "Subconcious Lee" by Lee Konitz; "Grand Central" by John Coltrane; "Moontide" by Randy Brecker; "You Don't Know What Love Is," by Don Raye and "Detour Ahead," by Lou Carter and Herb Ellis.
