Webster University Presents String Faculty Recital
What/Who:
The String Faculty of the Webster University Department of Music will present a recital featuring faculty members Susie Thierbach, violin; Anna Lackschewitz, viola; Ken Kulosa, cello; and Erik Harris, double bass. Joining in the recital will also be Paula Bernhardt, flute; Heidi Harris, violin; and Megan Stout, harp. Our performers have a rich professional performance background, entertaining audiences throughout the world, and performing in St. Louis with ensembles such as Opera Theater of St. Louis, Union Avenue Opera, St. Louis Bach Society and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
The program will open with the Claude Debussy’s Sonata for Flute, Viola and Harp. Debussy’s penchant for Impressionism is prevalent in this work. Also featured on the program is Antonin Dvořák’s String Quintet. This work is representative of Dvořák’s strong sense of nationalism, as he made the work’s dedication “To my nation.”
