Webster University Student Wins State Fiddle Championship

Justin Branum, a student graduating this May with a M.M. in jazz performance, received first place in the Tennessee State Fiddle Championship on March 17. This prestigious competition is one of the "big four" fiddle competitions in the United States. The others are the "Grand Master Fiddle Competition" in Nashville in which Justin placed 3rd last year, the "National Fiddle Competition" in Idaho, which he won in 2008 and the "Texas State Fiddle Competition" in which he is competing next month. He was awarded $2,300 as the winner in the Tennessee competition.
