Jazz Lab Ensemble to Be-Bop, Swing, Rock and More!
The Community Music School of Webster University’s Jazz Lab Ensemble will perform its winter concert under the direction of Robert Waggoner on Sunday, December 14, 2008 in the Community Music School building on the campus of Webster University.
Audience members will enjoy standards by jazz greats Charlie Parker and George Gershwin, as well as works with a touch of Latin by Clifford Brown, Lee Morgan and Horace Silver. An original composition by ensemble pianist, Gabriel Maichel, will also be introduced.
The Jazz Lab Ensemble’s unique instrumentation welcomes all melodic instruments, including brass, woodwinds, and strings, in addition to a traditional rhythm section. The ensemble performs a variety of jazz styles from the 1930’s to the present, with its members ranging in age from grades 8-12.
