The Webster University Press Publishes "Massoud: An Intimate Portrait of the Legendary Afghan Leader" by Webster Grad
The Webster University Press has published the second book since its inception in 2007. "Massoud: An Intimate Portrait of the Legendary Afghan Leader" was written by Webster University alumna Marcela Grad (B.A. Spanish, 1993) and is a collection of stories she gathered through interviews conducted with Afghans and others who knew the late Afghan leader. Ahmad Shah Massoud struggled to liberate Afghanistan from the Soviet invasion and the Taliban and warned the U.S. government of an imminent attack by the Taliban. He was assassinated two days before the attacks of September 11, 2001 and many believe the killing was ordered by Al-Qaeda.
Grad will conduct a series of speaking engagements and events during her upcoming visit to Webster University during the week of April 20. Check www.webster.edu for more event information.
