"The Paul DeMarinis Sextet” featuring vocalist Debby Lennon will present a concert of original music at Webster University

Who:
Paul DeMarinis, Director of Jazz Studies at Webster University, has  composed words and music for eight selections showcasing the vocal  talents of Webster jazz vocal instructor Debby Lennon. The  compositions are "It Was When," "Heart/Home," "Messenger," "Road  Song," "Nocturne," "Illumination," "Invocation" and "Twelve."The  ensemble consists of Debby Lennon-vocals, Paul DeMarinis-soprano and tenor saxophones and bass clarinet, Dave Black-guitar, Nick Schlueter- piano, Ben Wheeler-bass and Kyle Honeycutt-drums.

Winifred Moore Auditorium, 470 E. Lockwood Ave.

Cost:
$5 general admission; $3 senior adults and free to students with a  school ID card

Paul Demarinis is an active and well-respected jazz performer and  clinician. He has a long association as a saxophonist with the Saint  Louis Symphony Orchestra, including the ensemble’s 1999 appearance at Carnegie Hall. He has performed with numerous jazz artists including  Louie Bellson, Gary Foster, Dave Liebman and Bobby Shew, and has also performed in ensembles accompanying Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Doc Severinson and Nancy Wilson.
