Pianist Daniel Schene and Guest Violinist David Halen in Concert at Webster University
What/Who:
Webster University presents Daniel Schene, piano and David Halen, violin, in concert. The first half of the program will include solo piano music of Bach, Schumann and Beethoven. After intermission, Halen will join Schene in Cesar Franck's beloved Sonata in A Major for Violin and Piano.

David Halen, concertmaster of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra since 1995, joined the Orchestra in 1991 as assistant concertmaster. He served as Acting Concertmaster during the 1994-95 season, a capacity in which he also served for the Orchestra’s critically acclaimed European tour. Prior to his appointment in St. Louis, Halen was a member of the Houston Symphony Orchestra, where he played from 1984 until 1991. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member in Webster’s music department. Daniel Schene, director of keyboard studies at Webster University, has performed as a recitalist, concert soloist and chamber musician around the world. He is a frequent guest artist with the Saint Louis Symphony’s Chamber Music St. Louis Concerts and the Prelude series at Powell Symphony Hall. Schene records for CRI Records.
