Sarajevo Author and Activist to Speak at Webster Oct. 31
Svetlana Broz, M.D., the granddaughter of the former leader of Yugoslavia, Marshall Tito, will speak on “Choices People Make in Wartime: The War in Bosnia and Its Aftermath,” Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 4 p.m. in the Webster University Emerson Library Conference Room, 101 Edgar Road, Webster Groves, Missouri. Dr. Broz has played a role in the fight against ethnic particularism in the former Yugoslavia; is the founder of Education Towards Civil Courage, an organization that encourages cross-cultural understanding and respect among Balkan youth; and is the author of Good People in a an Evil Time (2002).
The event is free and open to the public and is sponsored by the College of Arts & Sciences’ History, Politics and International Relations Department and the Human Rights program.
