"Theresa Marshall – Get Out and Live: A Journey to Awareness," a Photography Exhibit at Webster University's May Gallery
Who/What:
Webster University's May Gallery presents the photography of Theresa Marshall in an exhibit entitled “Get Out and Live: A Journey to Awareness." The exhibit encompasses both self-awareness of her life and the lives of those around her. The show includes portraits of people that were met on a trip in 2005 and includes their audible statements of what they are doing to get out and live. It also includes images taken from that trip and a recent trip in 2007 from St. Louis through the Southwest to the Grand Canyon. The 2005 trip was a fundraising effort for the Susan G Komen foundation and its success was due to many wonderful contributors and supporters. "I wanted to take camera in hand and open my eyes to the world surrounding me,” says Marshall, “and I wanted to share that. I hope that sharing the images of things some will never see, and sharing the experiences will inspire others to do the same. I hope everyone will enjoy the show and remember to laugh, love and live and take care of yourselves and each other.”

Theresa Marshall graduated from the photography department at Webster University in Dec. 1991 and worked as an assistant to a corporate photographer based in Philadelphia, Pa. During that time, she created tm photography and specialized in portraiture and stock photography. Life ultimately brought her back to her hometown-St. Louis-seven years ago and closer to her family. She continues to keep tm photography alive, although only on a part time basis and continues to shoot professionally.
