    Webster University Presents  "…Under the Influence" a Concert with Paula Kasica, Flute


    What/Who
    :

    Webster University presents a concert entitled "…Under the Influence" featuring music from composers who were influenced BY Debussy, such as George Crumb, Ravel, Gaubert and others, OR the style of music had an influence ON Debussy, such as the stunning Katsustoshi Kabuki Theatre Music for flute & percussion and Gareth Farr: Balinese music from Asia for flute & marimba. The George Crumb piece is rarely performed, gorgeous, eerie, ethereal, with theatrics, called "Night of the Four Moons." The Ravel Chansons Madecasses is for voice, cello, flute and piano.

    Performers include:  Paula Kasica, flute, alto flute, piccolo, Webster faculty; John Kasica, percussion, St. Louis Symphony; Martha J. Hart, soprano, Webster faculty; Ken Kulosa, cello and electric cello, Webster faculty; Nancy Mayo, piano, Webster faculty; Wm Lenihan, banjo, Jazz faculty at Washington University and Paul Davis, conductor, Webster faculty.

    When:

    Sunday, Feb. 20, 2012, 7 p.m.

    Where:

    Community Music School Concert Hall, 535 Garden Ave. 63119

    Cost:

    $5 general public. $3 senior adults
