    “A Fortunate Brass Tango Cage” An evening of Chamber Music with members of the Webster University Wind Ensemble


    What/Who:

    Huh?!?  The cryptic title actually refers to members of the Webster University Wind Ensemble performing a concert of chamber music, as follows:

    A Fortunate (Chamber Winds: Orff “O Fortune” from Carmina burana)

    Brass (Brass Ensemble: music by Palestrina, Maurer and Hartley)

    Tango (Saxophone Ensemble: Albeniz “Tango”)

    Cage (Percussion Ensemble: John Cage “First Construction – In Metal”)

    Brass Ensemble, James A. Martin, director:

                Palestrina/arr. Waldeck: Agnus Dei

                Hartley: Orpheus - a madrigal (1961)

                Maurer: Three Pieces

    Saxophone Ensemble, Michael Karpowicz, director:

                Barker: Scherzo for Saxophone Quartet
