Webster University Wind Ensemble Performs a “The Music Of …” Concert
What/Who:
The Webster University Wind Ensemble, directed by James A. Martin, will perform a concert of music originally composed for Wind Ensemble. The works performed range from Ponchielli’s (La Gioconda) Sinfonia in B flat minor, Op. 153 written in 1872 to three compositions written in the twentieth-century by Karel Husa, Malcolm Arnold and Percy Grainger.
The program includes "Smetana Fanfare" (1984), by Karel Husa; "The Immovable Do" (1933-39), by Percy Grainer; "Water Music, Op. 82 by Malcolm Arnold and "Sinfonia in B flat minor, Op. 153 (1872) by Amilcare Ponchielli.
