ENMG 5100: Environmental Law I
Course Description
This course reviews the substantive law concerning the enforcement of federal and state environmental laws as well as process for imposing or avoiding liability. Topics to be covered include hazardous waste, toxic torts, environmental cleanup program and federal regulations.
Prerequisites
ENMG 5000 or approval of waiver by instructor.
Course Level Outcomes
- Building on the knowledge obtained from previous environmental law and science courses, acquaint and broaden students' knowledge of the origins of environmental law and implementation.
- Examine the agenda of interested parties (businesses, governmental, local, state and federal) and how they interact and affect environmental policy and law.
- Examine various statutory, regulatory, and voluntary approaches to environmental protection.
- Enable students to develop a personal philosophy and perspective of issues related to Environmental Law.
