Swimming Lessons
The Webster University Swim Lesson program started in 1995 as a small local program and has evolved into a program touching many individuals and families from Webster Groves and surrounding areas. Our objective is for each student to learn to enjoy the water in the safest possible environment. Every effort is made to assist each student in learning to swim and setting reachable goals for the most positive experience possible.
Our instructors are certified, or in the process of certifying as Water Safety Instructors through the American Red Cross. We do follow the American Red Cross outline for swimming lessons and water safety. By completing the American Red Cross program, swimmers can prepare for competitive or recreational swimming or a future certification in Lifeguarding.
For students who have completed the American Red Cross program, we also offer and Advanced Swim class for additional work on stroke technique and improved endurance. In the spring, we offer “Summer Warm-up, which is designed to get summer swimmers in shape before their summer team starts.
Lessons are taught in a five week format, meeting twice per week. We offer both daytime and evening lessons. Each class is thirty minutes in length. Our summer program offers daytime lessons Monday through Friday for two straight weeks and is based around pool availability.
