"Las Masias de la Tinenca...en WWW"

The strength of this site was, by far, its diversity of information. I enjoyed not being limited to viewing photographs. Some of the things offered in this site were numerous links, an opportunity to learn about the authors, and geographical and historical information about the image. All of this supplemental information really gave the images their full flavor, if you will. The only drawback that I felt there was, was that the layout of the pages were a little bit too stuffy.

"Foto Patagonia"

I was really impressed with this site. The overall feeling, I received, was really great. The 100% transparency on the text of the home page allowed the images of the photographers to surface, something I find really appealing. I find myself trying to crawl inside the letters to see the rest of the image. The only thing I had difficulty with was with the text size on the home page-it was so small making it difficult to read. This site consisted of two groups of photos: Blanco y Negro and Aguas, both of which were displayed very creatively. The B/N were imposed onto film negatives and the Aguas images were imposed(if that's indeed how this effect was even done...) onto 3dimensional picture frames and looked like they were spread out across a table for viewing. These displays created sincere warmth and depth. Nowadays, with the infinite use of computers in the arts, the overall feeling is changed when looking at images on screen. (Versus the 'golden olden days') Consequently, this artist worked hard to maintain that old time feeling and I think the hard work was a creative investment.

"Galeria de Fotografias de Miembros de Fotored"

I appreciated how the photographer's name and the title of the image was connected to each photograph. However, I found myself a little bit flustered with the site itself. Once you click an image for enlargement, the resolution is good, but it seems as if there's something missing???? The only thing I can pin down is that the placement, of the image, is awkward-it throws the page off balance. I actually had my computer 'reload' a few times because I thought it was showing me the other 1/2 of the page, whether it be another image or text. There was nothing about the image or the author either. I do realize that this publication is constantly changing and there is limited space and time to choose what is displayed and what is not, but maybe some consideration to the artists themselves would make the difference that I was looking for this afternoon. On not such a flustered note, I enjoy the Fotored Gallery and commend the photo picks to the highest mark. I especially enjoyed Clicio's 'Quiet Smoke' (particularly the shadow of the statue) and Francisco Andres' 'Sin titulo'.

"Cesar Salinas"

I had a lot of fun with this site. All of the pages were very animated and had a really nice texture to them. There were virtually limitless links such as YAHOO!, links to his hobbies such as movies, info about movies, etc. I was never left wondering how to get back to a previous page or if I could look further into something of interest, such as enlarging an image or getting more information about X Y or Z.

"La Cumbre"

A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled upon an image that really grabbed me. The image was of a gargoyle overlooking a city and I eventually was able to link it back to this site. All of the images were great-great perspective, quality, and all very symbolic as well. The site itself has a ton of related links. The layout of the photos worked well as well, consisting of title, date image was taken, and where it was taken- the latter was information that I like to know...however, there was no way to go from one photo to the next within each grouping.
