MINUTES OF THE DOGTOWN HISTORICAL SOCIETY

October 12, 2002

The meeting of the Dogtown Historical Society was held on August 10th,2002 at the home of John Corbett 6314 West Park Avenue.

Nina Kassing Bryans was away on a trip John Corbett vice president took over running the meeting. Meeting was called to order at 10:07 am with nine people in attendance. John Corbett, Jim Glaser, Henry Herbst, Tom Lenartson, Virginia Lopez, Bill and Gerry Miller, Kay Richard, Sally Sharamitaro.

Minutes read by Virginia Lopez: Correction John Corbett stated he was not present when Bob Corbett did the interview with Joe Wiss , Nick Direnso and Don Wiss at John’s home.

Treasurer Report -- Jim Glaser reported we have $1236.04 in the treasury.

BUSINESS

  1. Projects

    Education Program: John Corbett reported that Tom Wade spoke with Karen Battaglia the principal of St. James School, and she approves of the program. He was unable to get in touch with the eighth grade teacher. Tom will follow up on this program.

  2. On October 25th there will be a lighting celebration from 5 to 7 pm at Tamm and Clayton Avenues. Our alderman of the 24th ward Mr. Tom Bauer
