ISSUES DISCUSSED
  1. Route 66:
Henry Herbst & Bob Corbett talked with Jim Powell. Bob Corbett has a wonderful article about Hwy. 66 on the computer given to him by Jim Powell.

Henry said Nina Kassing Bryans should write a letter to Mr. Powell thanking him for his information.

  2. We will have 2 booths at St. James Homecoming, one on the inside, the other near the beer booth outside. John Corbett made a motion to purchase a banner & to have informational handouts about the Society and what we would like to accomplish. All agreed. Bill Vorbeck will bring a poster to put pictures on.

  3. Kay Richard & Sally Sharamitaro are working on the 1870 census. It is very difficult because there were no streets at that time, just open ground. Dogtown wasn't part of the city then, more like an open township.

  4. Research projects:

  5. Finance Report:
Jim Glaser said we had 23 responses to the e-mails and that he has collected $1500 so far. Bob will send out a second request for money through e-mail.

  6. John Corbett received a letter stating we have a federal tax number.

  7. Ed Cody sent Jim Glaser an e-mail suggesting: the form of resolutions be recommended for adoption at the next meeting; resolve that the board elect a bank as the authorized depository for funds of the Dogtown Historical Society; that the President and Secretary be authorized and directed to sign the necessary bank resolutions; obtain signature cards and designate the Treasurer and other officers to have access to said account for corporate purposes only.

  8. Bill Vorbeck made a motion to have Lindell Bank be the authorized depository. Bob Corbett seconded the motion. Motion passed.

  9. The Society would like to have a place to display material and pictures about the organization. One suggestion was the side window of Lehman Hardware. John Corbett said Seamus would let us have a corner in the restaurant. Bob Corbett made a motion to send out e-mails to find people who can and would be willing to do window displays. Bill Vorbeck seconded the motion. Motion passed.

The next meeting will be held at John Corbett's house at 6314 West Park Avenue.
Meeting adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
