MINUTES OF THE DOGTOWN HISTORICAL SOCIETY
September 3, 2011

CALL TO ORDER – President John Corbett called the meeting to order at 10:09 a.m. at the home of Jerry and Theresa Weisbrod at 6525 Wise Avenue, St. Louis, MO. Eleven members were in attendance; Bob Corbett, John Corbett, Lucy Corbett, Tom Corbett, Rose Kennedy, Bill Miller, Gerry Miller, Carol Nemeth, Scott Ogilvie, Sally Sharamitaro and Joe Weisbrod.

Meeting Minutes - A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the July 9, 2011 meeting. A vote was taken, the motion passed and the minutes were approved.

Treasurer’s Report – Bob Corbett presented the most current treasurer’s report, with the ending bank balance of $4,515.27. He then reminded the members that the most current treasurer’s report has been posted onto the Dogtown website.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the treasurer’s report. A vote was taken, the motion passed and the treasurer’s report was approved.


CURRENT BUSINESS

Veteran’s Memorial Project – – John discussed Phase II of the “Brick Garden” project.

He also explained how he plans to make a final decision for the brick installation, from the bids he has received and those he will receive.

John then discussed why he would like to form a Veteran’s Committee, for decisions on the qualification for each application the DHS receives for a memorial brick. The three members whose names were submitted, and approved, for the Veteran’s Committee are: Norm Merlotti, Tom Lohman and Tom Haller.
