CALL TO ORDER – President John Corbett called the meeting to order at 10:04 a.m. at the home of Tom and Lucy Corbett at 1411 Tamm, St. Louis, MO. Nine members plus three guests were in attendance; Bob Corbett, John Corbett, Lucy Corbett, Tom Corbett, Tom Haller, Carol Nemeth, Ronald Schodrowski, Sally Sharamitaro, Joe Weisbrod and our guests; Terry Dougherty, Betty Halley and Adam Levi.
Meeting Minutes -A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the March 13, 2010 meeting. A vote was taken, the motion passed and the minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s Report – Bob Corbett presented the most current treasurer’s report. The current balance as of 5/2/10 is $3,525.97, of which $2,262.63 is in the bench project fund. The DHS acquired seven new members this quarter, possibly from the new Dogtown Motor Club.
A motion was made and seconded to approve the treasurer’s report. A vote was taken, the motion passed and the treasurer’s report was approved
CURRENT BUSINESS
Archives/Donations- Bob gave a lecture at the April 2010 Meeting on Father Thomas Ambrose Butler, an early pastor of St. James the Greater Parish (1878-1884) who wrote two books of narrative poetry.
And he announced that for the June meeting, there would be no lecture, but an open house at his home at 1419 Tamm, and he welcomes all DHS members and any guests interested to view the Dogtown archives organized, filed and stored in separate binders by subject; Schools, Churches, Sports, Businesses, etc..
Bench Project - No Report
Century Home Committee – Bob reported for Bill and Gerry Miller that it now costs $50.00 for each Century Home plaque. Because the price increase was unknown at the time the letters were sent to the most current 1910 home owners informing them about the Century Home plaques, those purchased will not include any funds for the DHS. The full $50.00 will need go to the maker of the plaques; the Tile Library Co.
Bill and Gerry are also concerned that the Tile Library may decide against making future plaques and that we may need to find a replacement plaque maker.

CURRENT BUSINESS
Soldier’s Memorial Project – Bob began the discussion by reporting that he received more Dogtown veteran names and will post the corrected/updated list on his website. He added that most of these additions seemed to be veterans who served and survived, none who died in combat.
John and Bill Waterhouse discussed the city permits and the monument. Bill informed John that the city needs the name of the Park and a drawing of the designated park area for the final approval process.
Discussion followed on the park, the memorial area and the landscaping around the memorial. Bob recommended that we go first to the Dogtown neighborhood before we contact a professional landscaper. Several names were suggested. Bob will follow up.
John’s hope is that the stone will be in place by Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2010 for the ceremony dedicating the park and the memorial
Street Musician’s Festival– John put together a plan for the First Annual Street Musicians Festival.
