James Brady lived his entire live in Dogtown and was a life long member of St. James Church. He served on the front lines in WW I as a sergeant and was a past commander of V.F.W. post 3500. He was a carpenter and was a fifty-year member of Carpenters local no 73. He was born on August 22nd, 1893 son of William Brady, Jr and Mary Brady (nee Crowley). He resided at 1436 Graham St. from 1950 until his death on September 14, 1976. He built this home and well as other building in the area from being a carpenter. James was married on April 26th, 1926 to Mary O’Shaughnessy and they were married just over fifty years until his death. Both are buried at Jefferson Barracks. Jim and Mary had three sons: James Jr, William and Robert.
