GRANDCHILDREN

By: Julie Duane

I watch you, little granddaughter
playing dress up in your mother's heels
and though a vista of the years I see
myself, in trailing dresses and old hats
I watch you little grandson
peddling fast and furious on your trike
and in every little movement of your head
I see your fathers smiling face at four
I thank you so, most dearest of all children
for this extra glimpse of deja vu
