WHAT RHYMES WITH SUNDAY

By: Julie Duane

What rhymes with Sunday

Is nothing but Monday

Unless you count fun day –

For some folks that's pun day

Then there is Tuesday

That's Gershwin's good news day

But it could be a blues day –

A real born to lose day

Next day is Wednesday

That's for the men's day

A live it up sins day

A beer, wine, or gins day

Then there is Thursday

This must be hers day

A let's shop for furs day

(It's also cat purrs day)

Next there is Friday

A real do or die day

Tell the truth and don't lie day

Or it may be good-bye day

Then at last Saturday

Good for mad hatter day

For saints if they’re latter day

We’re all getting fatter day?

THAT’S IT – I QUIT!!!

Grandchildren I watch you, little granddaughter playing dress up in your mother's heels and though a vista of the years I see myself, in trailing dresses and old hats I watch you little grandson peddling fast and furious on your trike and in every little movement of your head I see your fathers smiling face at four I thank you so, most dearest of all children for this extra glimpse of deja vu Not Too Smart I'm never as clever As I think I am Which is why I forever Wind up in a jam
