12153: Re: 12148: Fla. Counties Consider Vote Changes (fwd)

From: ForHaiti@aol.com

It really makes me sick when I read about the poor abused foreigners. We
work in Haiti and we had been know French or hire someone who does when we do
anything "legal" because that is the official language of that country and
they don't care that we speak English, they don't.

We have an adopted Haitian daughter who came here for surgeries on her spine
at Shriner's. When her mother died, we later adopted her. In 1993 she spoke
only Creole. Today she is a student in the medical magnet program in 10th
grade and is taking English "honors"... anyone wanting to be an American and
live in America should take pride also in learning the language and doing
business, including voting if they are legal, in the language of the country
they live in -- I feel that both for Cubans and for Haitians.

There is always the preaching about missionaries trying to make other
countries into America -- why do they come HERE and want to turn America into
Cuba or Haiti????
