Brian Concannon writes:

 Catholic activist Paul Raymond

Since when can a man who has publicly called for people to be murdered be
fairly described (approvingly and with intent to deceive) as a "Catholic
activist"? (unless you want to go back to the Crusades, Columbus in the
Americas etc).

Raymond, an Aristide activist/thug/street-gang leader, called a press
conference in PauP in January 2001and read out a list of people he said
should (and would) be killed because they were part of a planned future
government. He had found the list (or somebody had found it for him) on a
two-a-penny website of an obscure Haitian in exile (Wisler Marcellus) who
was simply musing by himself who might be good to run the country (with
himself as president, of course...).

Raymond triumphantly "revealed" it at the press conference and made death
threats against the politicians and journalists on the list.

Soon afterwards, it was pointed out to him that it was nonsense and he fell
into an embarrassed silence.
