Maybe if Simeus succeeds against all (political) odds to become Haiti's president, he'll make history by being the first to enter the job as a multi-millionaire instead of the other way around. One thing is sure: he is not after the money. The man has done it all and obviously likes a challenge. At 65 he is wanting a legacy. Like many red blooded Haitian males, he wants it in his mother land.

If his citizenship is challenged in the courts, maybe we'll finally get to find out all the ones who were US citizens with unconstitutional jobs under Lavalas. That may be Simeus' trump card. He is a Texan with lots of lobby money and a friend of the Bush family. The US has never confirmed or denied the rumors about Neptune and all others who supposedly held US citizenships. They like to keep such information until it becomes useful to disclose. Will the beans be spilled to push the American agenda? Somehow, I cannot see the US administration passing the chance of unloading the "Haiti problem" onto a man like Simeus for at least a few years. They won't even have pay to finance his campain. This is the Arnold Scwartzeneger phenomenon. Haitian will vote for his in droves just like they did for Aristide. A son of Latibonit! A son of peasants! A self made millionaire! People are tired of the same names of the last 20 years talking with no action. The people are smart. Simeus is smart. Simeus has money to pay for endless infomercials. Watch out!
