#194: airlines in Haiti: DeTellis comments

From: George DeTellis Jr <jr@newmissions.org>

During the 1980's there were 3 U.S. airlines serving Haiti. American,
Eastern, & Pan Am. Eastern & Pan Am went bankrupt leaving American with a
monopoly position as the only U.S. carrier with a full network of flights
across North America.

Currently United airlines is code-sharing flights with ALM. Air France flys
from Miami and Air Canada from Montreal.

American Airlines has 90% of the flights in the Caribbean. Delta has
started flights to the Caribbean from there Atlanta hub, but not service to
Haiti.
