the argument is used as a front.......the truth is that many of the leaders
in Florida do not want more Haitians, given the level of language skill and
vocational skills carried by them.......this is also true for New
York.......further, the truth is that FLorida does not really want more
Cubans or others from the Caribbean or Central America.....for the same
reasons.......

but, it is not "good politics" to say so publicly......while privately, this
attitude has prevailed for a number of years........

the immigration question is growing as a political issue, and will continue
to do so.......actually, it started several years ago.......with welfare
reform, which will continue, the fact is that immigration will get much
tougher.....not just for Haitians or those from Central America, but in
general......
