Uncertainty ahead of Haiti vote (BBC NEWS)

A further round of discussions is expected to take place in Haiti today
as attempts continue to solve the country's electoral crisis. The talks
-- mediated by the Organisation of American States -- have brought
together supporters of the former President, Jean Bertrand Aristide, and
opposition politicians who are boycotting November's presidential
elections. Opponents of Mr Aristide say legislative elections held in
May were rigged. Mr Aristide's Lavalas Family party won eighty
percent of available seats at the vote.Haiti's Prime Minister, Jacques
Edouard Alexis, has conceded that November's elections could
now be postponed while the OAS deputy Secretary General Luigi Einaudi
said the situation was tense and uncertain.
