PARTIAL LIST OF HAITIAN RECORDINGS FROM GAGE AVERILL

LAST UPDATED: FEB. 3, 1999

The list below came to the Corbett mailing list compliments of Gage Averill in Feb. 1999. Now I hope that with his help and others of you who check this list, we might keep an increasingly complete list. Please don't hesitate to send additions to:

In response to recent discussion concerning recommendations for Haitian music, I thought I'd make available the following partial and very incomplete (and 5 years out-of-date) list. Nonetheless, its probably much more complete than anything else that exists in one place. It may serve as a list from which some poeple might begin to sample some of the great material available (there is also a lot of not so-great material on the list below--beware!) Something like this (updated) along with recommendations will eventually go up on my still-to-come web site.
